The Butterfly Foundation was organized by the Stegall family in 2007 in memory of Ryleigh Stegall, who lost her battle with leukemia that year. Since 2007, the Foundation has held an annual Ryleigh Walk in the schools in the county in her birthday month in November – until last year. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Ryleigh Walk will look a little different in the schools again this year. Each school will celebrate the Walk in its own way.

The Butterfly Foundation would like to encourage everyone who purchases a “Ryleigh Remembered” t-shirt to wear it during the week of November 15-19 in support of the Foundation. Order forms with all necessary information may be picked up at any bank in the county, and must be turned in by November 5. The shirts are black with gray lettering which says, “The Butterfly is beautiful because the Caterpillar was brave.”
