Robert Terry Franks, Waynesboro, TN, was born September 16, 1948 in Waynesboro, TN, son of the late James William “Bill” and Sarah Marie Melson Franks. He married the former Twyla Jean Byrd on August 29, 1970. Mr. Franks, a Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company retiree, was a member of Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee and the Clifton Masonic Lodge. He departed this life on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 16 Days.
Mr. Franks is survived by his wife, Twyla Jean Byrd Franks, Waynesboro, TN; sons, Ryan Franks, wife, Brittnye, and Tim Franks, wife, Andrea, all of Waynesboro, TN and Jeff Franks, wife, Amanda, Fayetteville, TN; grandchildren, Audrey Franks, Allyson Franks, Emma Smith, Will Franks, Casey Franks, Avery Franks and Annsley Franks; brothers, Jimmy Franks, Paul Franks and Sam Franks all of Waynesboro, TN, Grayford Franks, Clifton, TN and Steve Franks, Hohenwald, TN; sisters, Kitty Pulley, Portland, TN, Doris Creecy, Lois Franks, Shelia Alley and Linda Owens all of Waynesboro, TN and Carolyn Adams, Collinwood, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, Mr. Franks was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Joyce Franks.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kerry Franks and Cal Hampton officiating. Burial was in Highland Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceburg (Wayne County), Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Serving as pallbearers were Ryan Franks, Jeff Franks, Tim Franks, Will Franks, Casey Franks, Jon David Byrd, Gaynes Keaton and Isaac Hampton with Jimmy Franks, Steve Franks, Grayford Franks, Paul Franks, Sam Franks and David Byrd serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Butterfly Foundation in Waynesboro, TN.
