Robert Dale Dixon, Iron City, Tennessee, was born March 30, 1947 in Lawrenceburg, TN, the son of the late Clemeth Isaac and Thelma Mae Sharpe Dixon. He married the former Linda Hannah, February 25, 1966. Mr. Dixon, a retired Signal Engineer Supervisor with Union Switch and Signal Railroad, was a member of the Fairview Freewill Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee. He was a member of Stainless Lodge #580 Mason and served six years in the Tennessee National Guard. He departed this life, Saturday, February 27, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center, Florence, Alabama at the age of 73 Years, 10 Months, 28 Days.
Survivors, wife, Linda L. Dixon, daughter, Paula Dixon Borden both of Iron City, TN, 1 grandson, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by sister, Audrey Ruth Mitchell and brothers, Virgil and Delbert Dixon.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Luke Calton, Greg Stults and Bobby Glen Rich officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites followed in Railroad Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Stainless Lodge #580 Mason served as pallbearers.
