The roar of trucks and tractors will be echoing throughout the city of Collinwood this Friday and Saturday, when the annual “Pullin’ in the Wood” tractor pull comes to town once again. Hosted by the Collinwood Beautification Board, the event will be held over two nights, Friday, August 28th and Saturday, August 29th. This year’s pull will be a Memorial Pull, held to honor the life of the late Brent “Beefy” Dixon. Beefy was a member of the Beautification Board, and a beloved friend and family member to many throughout the community.

The antique pull is coming up first on Friday. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., and the Dedication Ceremony will be held at 6:30. A memorial plaque will be presented in honor of Mr. Dixon, which will be displayed at all future events. The pulling will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Saturday will be the official United States Pullers Association tractor pull. Gates will open again at 5:00 p.m., with pulling to begin at 7:00. Concessions and t-shirts will be available for purchase.

Masks, social distancing, and good hygiene are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for attendees of the event!

Vendors for the event may set up at any time before 4:00 p.m. All spectators will have wrist bands; anyone seen without one will be given the chance to purchase one or asked to leave.

The event is held at the tractor pull site at the intersection of Highway 13 and Railroad Bed Road in Collinwood. Parking is somewhat limited, so be sure to get there early, and bring your lawn chairs for additional seating.

For more information on the event, call Jerdie Ayers at 931-722-1099.
