What would the end of summer be without the roar of trucks and tractors echoing throughout the city of Collinwood? That’s right, it’s almost time once again for “Pullin’ in the Wood,” the annual tractor pull that brings excitement and big crowds to town every year.

Hosted by the Collinwood Beautification Board, this year’s event will be held over two nights, Friday, August 27th and Saturday, August 28th.

The antique pull is coming up first on Friday. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., when everyone can start enjoying the food, games, and craft booths that will be set up at the event. The pulling will begin at 7:00 p.m. Along with the antique tractor pull, there will also be a Tough Truck Tire Pull on Friday.

Saturday, August 28th will be the official United States Pullers Association tractor pull. Gates will open again at 5:00 p.m., with pulling to begin at 7:00. There will be lots of food, games, crafts, and more for everyone to enjoy along with the “pullin’!”

The event is held at the tractor pull site at the intersection of Highway 13 and Railroad Bed Road in Collinwood. Parking is somewhat limited, so be sure to get there early, and bring your lawn chairs for additional seating.

For more information on the event, call Jerdie Ayers at 931-722-1099.
