Mr. Preston Cole Carroll, 65, formerly of Clifton, passed away July 6, 2020, in Goldsboro, NC. Mr. Carroll was born August 7, 1954, the oldest child of the late Preston W. and “Darbo” Carroll. He was working in North Carolina, brokering trucks. He had many professions during his lifetime, equipment operator for his dad’s construction company, Corvette salesman, heavy equipment salesman, but his love and passion was being a truck driver. Mr. Carroll owned and operated several trucks during his career, but his favorite was a red Peterbilt, built especially for him.
Survivors include his two sons and families: Preston Gordon (Lynn) Carroll, and grandson Coen, of Stephenville, TX; Ryan Cole (Jess) Carroll, and granddaughter Savannah of Jackson, MS; a brother Clyde J. (Darlene) Carroll of Clifton, TN; three sisters, Roberta Ann Carroll and Janie (Chris) Omer, all of Nashville, TN and Jeanie (John) Cox, of Dallas, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and many, many friends.
