NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR

THE INSTALLATION OF A 1,500 FT 2

 SPLASHPAD IN CLIFTON, TN

   Notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of September, at the hour of 2:00 pm at Clifton City Hall, the City of Clifton will open bids for installation of owner supplied aquatic play equipment at: Clifton Riverfront Park, 1015 Linden Highway, Clifton, TN 38425. Construction drawings for the project are on file at the City of Clifton offices, and are available for inspection. Each interested Contractor may obtain one copy of the Drawings at no charge. A pre-bid conference to review the project will be held on August 30th , 2021 at 10:00 am at the project site. It is not mandatory to attend this conference. All contractors planning to attend the pre-bid conference are requested to contact the City Manager at (931) 676-3370 during normal business hours for directions to the project site if needed. Each bid must be accompanied by a bidder’s bond and made payable to the City of Clifton for an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the amount bid, such guarantee to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish good and sufficient bond for the faithful performance thereof and for the payment of labor and material costs in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents, and by the proposal requirements. All bids and the bidder’s security shall be placed within a sealed cover, with the cover bearing the title of work and the name of bidder, and shall be filed with the City of Clifton or before the time herein before set forth for the opening of bids. Any bid received after said time shall be returned to the bidder unopened. The City of Clifton hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive minor irregularities or informalities in any bonds or in the contract proposal. The awarded bidder/contractor for this project must be a certified VORTEX installer with proof of certification. Every original Contractor awarded a Contract shall file a Payment and Performance Bond with the City of Clifton. If awarded, the winning bidder shall start the project within thirty (30) days of the bid award. This project is funded in part by a grant from the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) administered by the Recreation Resources Division of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
