Neva Jane Skelton Risner of Ethridge, Tennessee, formerly of Waynesboro, Tennessee, was born on March 5, 1927 in Wayne County, TN. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Harrison Skelton and Zula Belle Copeland Skelton. Mrs. Risner was united in marriage to Robert Ezell Risner on February 9, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 28, 2016. Mrs. Risner was retired from Genesco and was a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at her home at the age of 93 Years, 6 Months and 18 Days.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Angela Risner Jacobs, Roger Brian Risner and Jason Allen Risner; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Harland Skelton of Warren, MI and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Risner was preceded in death by her sons, Roger Louie Risner and Timothy Wade Risner; three brothers, Osteen, Gilbert and Otto Skelton and two sisters, Irene Skelton and Eva Granaas.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kerry Franks officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation was Friday, September 25, 2020 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm and Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 10 am to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Tim Jacobs, Wesley Jacobs, Ronnie Tripp and Cletus Risner.
