A Muscle Shoals optometrist was arrested last week for being behind a massive marijuana growing operation in Wayne County. The News reported last week about the raid of the building near the Alabama state line that contained nearly 500 6-foot-tall marijuana plants, along with equipment used to extract THC from the plants.

Stuart Marc Greenberg, age 45, turned himself in and was arrested in Wayne County on Monday, December 23rd. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on charges of manufacture of a controlled substance; conspiracy to manufacture, sell, and deliver a controlled substance; manufacture of marijuana concentrate using inherently hazardous substances; and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $355,000.00.

Dr. Greenberg turned himself in to the Colbert County, Alabama jail on Friday, December 20th on charges of drug trafficking as well as two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. These charges were filed in Alabama after a search warrant was executed at Greenberg’s residence at 102 St. Andrews Drive in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. A civil suit was filed against some of Greenberg’s property, including his home (pictured above).

In the case against the house, Colbert County District Attorney Bryce Graham Jr. states that on December 18, 2019 and on a continuous basis, the property described as 102 St. Andrews Drive, Muscle Shoals was being used for the receipt, storage, handling, distribution or sale of controlled substances within the class prohibited by law in Colbert County, Alabama. The document doesn’t state specifically what was inside the home or what may have been seized by investigators.
