Wayne County High School Ladycat basketball player Michaela Gallian signed a basketball scholarship on Thursday with University of Tennessee Southern in Pulaski, formerly known as Martin Methodist College. Gallian was a four-year member of the Ladycats, who finished 35 – 5 and TSSAA Class 1A Runner-up this season.
Michaela finished her career at WCHS with 949 points and 443 rebounds, despite a shortened 2020 season because of COVID and limited playing time in 2021 – 2022. A torn ACL and surgery in June slowed her as a senior, but she returned to action in five months providing depth off the bench. She is also a member of the Ladycats softball team and academically finished 5th in the Class of 2022.
Gallian is pictured with Assistant Firehawk Coach Maria Zimdars, signing her scholarship, and also with her teammates and coaches. The Firehawks compete in the Mid-South Conference.
