Maurine W. Kish was born in Ogallala, Nebraska on June 1, 1926 and began her ultimate Sabbath rest on February 13, 2021. She was stricken with polio when four years old, undergoing many excruciating operations to lengthen her affected left leg. Being an overcomer, she pursued her education, graduating with a degree from Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her working life included periods as a legal secretary, elementary school teacher, and for many years, book editor and secretary to Dave Hunt and his ministry in Bend, Oregon.

Upon retirement she lived in assisted living in Tucson, Arizona and Waynesboro, Tennessee. She passed after a residency of two and a half years at Perry County Nursing Home.

She is survived by her little sister, Janelle Brown (Mrs. Kennedy Brown), now of Tupelo, Mississippi, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, and two brothers.

Remembrances may be made in her honor to Dave Hunt’s ministry, The Berean Call, PO Box 7019, Bend, OR 97708.
