Matthew Shawn South, age 38, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Wednesday, May 20th on charges of driving on a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine with intent. Deputy Austin Lanier filed a report stating that he performed a traffic stop on South on Highway 99, and took South into custody for driving on a suspended license and three prior failure to appear warrants. Upon a physical inventory of South’s vehicle at the Wayne County Jail, officers allegedly discovered a plastic bag containing approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine. South was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $75,500.00 bond.
