Mary Lois Reaves Horton was born June 27, 1924 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Robert Reaves and Lina Maybelle Vickery Reaves Brewer. Mrs. Horton departed this life, Monday, February 24, 2020 at Wayne Medical Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 95 Years, 7 Months, 28 Days. She married Edward Horton, March 21, 1947 and he preceded her in death, October 12, 2009. Mrs. Horton was a retired inspector at Collinwood Manufacturing, a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, a Gold Star Mother and a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors, son, Danny David Horton, wife, June, Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Paulette Bratcher, Florence, AL, Jeanette Sherrill, Collinwood, TN, Deborah Faye Hester, husband, Jehu, Russellville, AL; grandchildren, Melinda Rogers, Charlotte Horton, Christopher Bratcher, Jeffery Sherrill, Jared Sherrill, Joshua Sherrill, Jordan Cummings, Erin Cooley, Nathan Horton, April Horton, William Hester, Summer Hester and Mollie Hester; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Edward Horton; brothers, Jay, R.B., Richard, and Lee Warren Reaves and sisters, Ester Carlton, Josie Eveline Horton and Shirley Jean Clemons-Wisdom.
Services were Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with John E. Banks and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial was in Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, assisting the family. Pallbearers were Jeffery Sherrill, Jared Sherrill, Joshua Sherrill, Nathan Horton, William Hester and Clint Rogers.
