   Mrs. Margaret Ann Scott Thompson was born September 12, 1940 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thomas and Jeffie “Sid” Bell Smith Scott. She was united in marriage to James Elbert Thompson on April 13, 1957. Mr. Thompson preceded her in death on November 26, 2014. She had lived in Walker Town community of Hardin County and on Eagle Creek in Wayne County. Mrs. Thompson was a Unit Director for Home Interior and had formerly worked for Trace Manufacturing and Garan Factory. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clifton, Tennessee. Mrs. Thompson departed this life on April 24, 2020 in Waynesboro at the age of 79 Years, 7 Months, and 12 Days.

   She is survived by four sons, James Lynn Thompson and wife Deborah, Waymond Lee Thompson and wife Reda, Robert Earl Thompson and wife Sandy, Blake Thompson and wife Miranda; a daughter, Joann Thompson Throgmorton and husband David; a daughter-in-law Sandra Thompson, wife of Kenneth;  two brothers, David Scott and wife Willie Ann, Ray Scott and wife Kathy; and two sisters, Joyce Wright, Sherry Wardlow and husband Kelly. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

   In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth “Texx” Thompson; two sisters, Virgina Faye Scott, Gail Scott; and a great-grandson, Carson Wayne Brown.

   In lieu of flowers, please give to the First Baptist Church in memoriam or to the charity of your choice.
   A Private Family Graveside Service was held on April 28, 2020 at  Walker Cemetery in Waynesboro, with Randall Runions and Paul Scott officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting.
