Maltie Sword Parker, Clifton, TN, was born February 27, 1932 in Pikeville, KY, the daughter of the late Jim and Susie Stewart Sword. She married John Parker, Sr. on February 19, 1955 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1986. Mrs. Parker retired from Genesco but had worked at Mullins Cafe in Pikeville, KY and was a homemaker and a caregiver. She was a member of the Clifton Church of Christ in Clifton, Tennessee. Mrs. Parker departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 6 Months, 6 Days.
Survivors, sons, Robert Daniel Parker and John Parker, Jr. both of Clifton, TN; grandchildren, Courtney Parker Allen, Nashville, TN and Cory Daniel Parker, Savannah, TN and great-grandchildren, Parker Ann Allen and Robert Allen, 5th. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by brother, Dan Hall.
Services were Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Clifton Church of Christ, Clifton, Tennessee, with Tracy Love officiating. Burial was in Clifton Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers were Sam Prater, Robert Parker, John Parker, Jr., Ben Cossey and Trent Prater.
