Malcolm “Sonny” Flippo Jr. was born September 8, 1961, in Florence, AL, the son of the late Malcolm Arnold Fillipo and Bertie Joesphine Pulley Flippo. He was united in marriage to Jane Brewer on November 25, 1998. He was a diesel mechanic and performed many other types of skilled work, as he was known as a “jack of all trades.” Mr. Flippo was a member of the Baptist faith, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and was well loved by his family and a multitude of friends. Mr. Flippo departed this life on April 25, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 60 Years, 7 Months, 17 Days.

He is survived by his wife Jane (Brewer) Flippo; sons Jim Richard Flippo and Seth Flippo, all of Waynesboro, TN; brothers, Robert Flippo and wife Audra of Perry County, TN and Phil Devers of Bartlett, TN; nephew Daniel Devers, also of Bartlett, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flippo was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Anderson.

At his request his body will be cremated. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Butterfly Foundation.
