Lonnie DeWayne Morgan, age 54, a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, was born January 24, 1966 in Waynesboro, Tennessee to the late Lonnie William and Becky Isabell Ray Morgan. He was employed at Hassell and Hughes Lumber Co., Collinwood, as a tilt hoist operator. Fondly known to family as “Duck,” he was a very kind and caring man and if you had the privilege of knowing him, you loved him. He had a great sense of humor and often so serious you didn’t know he was kidding with you until he grinned. The man loved good food and loved family cookouts and family meals at holidays. His favorite was his brothers, catfish, and you better have plenty of onion to go with it. He was a good friend, a good neighbor, and a hard worker.
Survivors include brothers, William Morgan, Waynesboro, Frank Morgan of Clifton, and Jimmy Morgan of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Lonnie Sue Morgan and Patsy Dicus, both of Waynesboro. Other than his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by brothers, James and John Morgan.

Graveside services were 3:00 PM Saturday at Highland Methodist Church Cemetery with Johnny Kilburn officiating. Interment followed services with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
