Linda Darlene Ruperd Deaton

   Linda Darlene Ruperd Deaton was born August 30, 1948 in Munising, Michigan, the daughter of the late Albert Ruperd and Sylvia Irene Cota Ruperd. She was united in marriage to Dwight Deaton on August 17, 1968. Mrs. Deaton departed this life on October 15, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center at the age of 71 Years, 1 Month, 15 Days.

   Mrs. Deaton was a Registered Nurse, having worked several years for St. Theresa’s Hospital and the Wayne County Boot Camp, and was retired from Hilltoppers where she taught caregiver classes. She was a former resident of Munising, Michigan and Park City, Illinois; a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

   She is survived by her husband Dwight Deaton; a son, Anthony Wayne Deaton; a daughter, Karen Irene Deaton Judah; all of Waynesboro, TN; three brothers, Dale Ruperd, Albert Ruperd, Jr. (Butch), and David Ruperd; three sisters, Lisa Ruperd, Sylvia (Keeling) Ruperd, Deanna Ruperd; two grandchildren, Dusty Deaton of Cookeville, TN, Autumn Judah of Waynesboro, TN; three great-grandchildren, Rance Bilbrey, Jayce Deaton, Raylee Bilbrey, all of Cookeville, TN.

   In addition to her parents, Mrs Deaton was preceded in death by a grandchild, Cordell Deaton, and one sister, Deberah “Debbie” Ruperd.

   A graveside service was held Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Highland Methodist Church cemetery with Grant Pavy officiating and interment following in the cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County were in charge of the services.
