The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a Lawrence County man was killed in an off-road crash in Wayne County late Thursday night, June 17th.
The THP said that a 1993 Chevy Silverado was off-road in steep terrain when the vehicle reportedly overturned several times down a steep embankment near Duck Town Road in Iron City. Lawrence County emergency crews with specialized training in rapelling were dispatched to the scene.
Joshua Hopper, age 26, of Leoma, was reported as the driver of the vehicle. Hopper died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Two passengers, Rose Doherty, age 41, and Rickey Smith, age 39, both of Iron City, were listed as injured.
