Brianna Marie Long, age 23, and Jason Wade Vanderford, age 36, both of Lawrenceburg, were arrested on Sunday, April 19th on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop. Deputy James Brock filed a report stating that he responded to a call of a reckless driver on Highway 64 East, where he observed a silver Honda Accord being driven by Long in the center of Highway 64. When Deputy Brock pulled the vehicle over, Long initially gave a false name and social security number. Deputy Brock was ultimately able to determine Long’s true identity, and confirmed that her driver’s license was suspended. While speaking with Vanderford, the passenger in the vehicle, Deputy Brock allegedly observed a glass meth pipe lying in plain view. A search of the vehicle went on to reveal a bag hidden behind the glove compartment that contained over ten grams of methamphetamine, over seven grams of marijuana, digital scales, syringes, plastic baggies, and a measuring spoon. Two Hydrocodone pills were allegedly found in a plastic baggie between the passenger seat and door. Both Long and Vanderford were then transported to the Wayne County Jail, at which time the deputy found a chalky residue on the back seat of the patrol unit and noticed a white, chalky residue on Long’s mouth. A review of the video from the camera inside the patrol unit showed Vanderford taking something out of his pocket and placing it onto the seat, and Long picking up the substance with her mouth and chewing it up. Long allegedly admitted to officers that she had ingested two Xanax bars. A search of Long once inside the jail allegedly revealed another Xanax bar inside a plastic baggie concealed on her person, and 2 ¾ Xanax bars inside the rubber boots Long was wearing. Narcan was administered to Long to counter the effects of the Xanax. Long was arrested on charges of driving on revoked license 3rd offense, possession of meth with intent, criminal impersonation, possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and introduction of contraband into a penal facility. She was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $123,500.00 bond. Vanderford was arrested on charges of possession of schedule IV controlled substance, possession of meth with intent, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $90,000.00 bond.
