Lawrence Howard (Goose) Rumbaugh of Waynesboro, Tennessee was born January 22, 1936 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Ray Erwin and Freda Regina Smith Rumbaugh. Mr. Rumbaugh was a retired maintenance worker with Indian Creek Manufacturing and departed this life, Monday, December 28, 2020 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 11 Months and 6 Days.
He is survived by son, Michael Rumbaugh and wife, Sonya of Waynesboro, TN; step-son, Jerry Dale Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Regina Tidwell of Collinwood, TN, Vanessa Murphy of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Daniel, Heather, Jamie and Britta Rumbaugh, Tonya Hernandez, Kara Balentine, Scotty and Jimmy Tidwell, Jason Melton and Faith and Josh Melson; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Everleigh, Jordan, Kaebri, Jaleigh, Brianna, Ben, Candice, Alyssa, Carrie, Austin, Amber, Kevin, Ruby Anne, Jeremiah, Noah, Gabriel, Mayle, Maria, Malachi, Madison and Dominic. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rumbaugh was preceded in death by grandparents, Florence Skillern and Samuel Barton; brothers, Billy, Ted, Frank, John, Ralph, Gene and Dana and sisters, Dorothy, Mary Nelle and Janie.
Services were Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Casey Jones officiating. Burial with military rites was in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Serving for Mr. Rumbaugh as pallbearers were Dana Rumbaugh, Kenneth Rumbaugh, Johnny Rumbaugh, John Rumbaugh, Ted Rumbaugh, Jr. and Eddie Rumbaugh with Jeremiah Rumbaugh as the honorary pallbearer.
