Lawrence County Pair Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

   Cody Rex Parker, age 27, of Loretto, Tennessee, and Mary Beth Joiner, age 37, of St. Joseph, Tennessee, were arrested on Saturday, December 26th on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputy Tyler McKenzie performed a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Parker on Pumping Station Road for driving over the double yellow line twice. Joiner was identified as the passenger in the vehicle. When Deputy McKenzie approached the vehicle, he allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside. A search of the vehicle went on to reveal approximately three grams of marijuana inside a small plastic bag; approximately one gram of methamphetamine in another plastic bag; and meth pipes, a marijuana pipe, and several plastic bags used to package drugs. Both Parker and Joiner were arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $102,500.00 bond each.
