Larry Keith Turbett of Lakeland, TN was born in Pennsylvania on April 10, 1938. He was the son of the late Brady Lewis and Alda Mae Bowers Turbett. He married the former Elizabeth Jane Balentine and she preceded him in death on July, 29, 2016. Mr. Turbett was a retired civil engineer with a long career at Harland Bartholomew and Associates. He was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Gideons, having distributed Bibles throughout the mid-south area for many years. Mr. Turbett departed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Shelby Gardens Place in Cordova, TN at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 10 days.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Turbett, wife, Beverly of Arlington, TN and Brady Turbett, wife, Karen of Columbia, TN; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Brock) Stewart, Ashley (Andrew) Tinker, Paul (Christina) Bush and Tiffany (Michael) Martin; his great-grandchildren, Rylee and Aubree Stewart, Jayden and Jaxon Bush and Elliot Tinker; and nieces and nephews. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joy Lynn White, his grandson, Lane Clanton and his sister, Cindy Gutzwiller.
Services were Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 3 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County, Collinwood, TN with Jake Claunch officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers were Brock Stewart, Andrew Tinker, Paul Bush, Jason Balentine, Caleb Balentine and Roger C. Balentine.
