   Kenneth Ray (Cotton) Sanderson, Sr. of Iron City, Tennessee, was born on October 11, 1953 in Florence, Alabama.  He was a son of the late Girtie Lee and Ester Maud Myrick Sanderson. Mr. Sanderson was united in marriage to the former Mary Nettie Martin on November 15, 1972. Mr. Sanderson departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in an automobile accident in Wayne County, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 9 Months and 1 Day.

   He is survived by his wife, Mary Nettie Martin Sanderson of Iron City, TN; a son, Kenneth Ray Sanderson, Jr. of Iron City, TN; two daughters, Becky Brewer and Heather Darby both of Collinwood, TN; his grandchildren, Justin Brewer, Kaylee Sanderson, Noah Sanderson, and Nicholas Sanderson and Crislyn Darby, D.J. Darby and Ty Darby; three brothers, Jerry Sanderson of Rogersville, AL, Cecil Sanderson of Savannah, TN and Jeff Sanderson of Collinwood, TN;  two sisters, Shirley Hollingsworth of Rogersville, AL and Barbara Waldrep of Cypress Inn, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sanderson was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Sanderson, Billy Sanderson, Jim Sanderson, Richard Sanderson and Tony Sanderson and his sisters, Catherine Swinea and Betty Dupree.

   Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Camryn Eaton officiating. Burial followed in the Emmaline Stutts Cemetery, 31301County Road 8, Florence, Alabama with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation was on Friday, July 17, 2020 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers were Tyler Sanderson, Tanner Sanderson, John Bray, Ronnie Bray, Brodie Wright and Jenson Bray. Billy Martin served as an honorary pallbearer.
