Following are the judgments and probation revocation orders filed by Judge J. Russell Parkes and Judge David L. Allen in the Criminal/Circuit Court of Wayne County during the months of October and November 2020:
Freda Rene Box pled and was found guilty of abuse of elderly adult, a class E felony. She was sentenced to two years in TDOC, which was reduced to two years supervised probation. Box was ordered to pay $1,000.00 in fines, and was placed on the Elder Abuse Registry. She also received a partial revocation of probation on a prior charge of possession of methamphetamine for resale, and was ordered to serve 120 days in county jail before being placed back on probation. Box will receive credit for time served from 08/07/2020 to 10/15/2020.
Cody Cogdill pled and was found guilty of introduction of contraband into a penal facility, a class D felony, and possession of schedule III Suboxone, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to four years in TDOC on the felony charge, and 11 months 29 days in county jail on the misdemeanor, with both sentences reduced to supervised probation after serving six months. He will receive credit for time served from 07/15/2020 to 10/15/2020.
James Hudson pled and was found guilty of simple possession of schedule IV Alprazolam, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in county jail, with the sentence reduced to supervised probation after serving 75%. Hudson was ordered to pay $750.00 in fines. He will receive credit for time served from 11/10/2020 to 11/11/2020.
Luis Manuel Medina pled and was found guilty of burglary, a class D felony, and two counts of aggravated assault, a class C felony. He was sentenced to five years in TDOC on each of the aggravated assault charges, with those sentences to run consecutively; and four years in TDOC on the burglary charge, with that sentence to run concurrently to the assault sentences. All sentences were reduced to supervised probation after serving 365 days. Medina was ordered to have no contact with John Daniel or Matthew Borden, and was ordered to pay restitution to Daniel in the amount of $100.00. Medina also received a partial revocation of probation on a previous charge of possession of methamphetamine for resale, with probation to be reinstated after serving one year in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 07/06/2020 to 11/12/2020.
Blaze Painter pled and was found guilty of aggravated burglary, a class C felony; burglary of auto, a class E felony; and two counts of theft of $1,000 or less, a class a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to a total of six years in TDOC on the felony charges, with the sentences to run concurrently, and 11 months 29 days in county jail on each of the misdemeanor charges, with those sentences to run concurrently as well. All sentences were reduced to supervised probation after serving 75% of the misdemeanor sentences in county jail. Painter was ordered to pay restitution to Randel Webb in the amount of $121.00 and to Dakota Davis in the amount of $1,500.00, with all restitution to be paid jointly and severally with Elijah Ferguson and Hardin Stults. Painter will receive credit for time served from 04/18/2020 to 05/01/2020.
Virginia Stone pled and was found guilty of aggravated assault, a class C felony; reckless endangerment, a class E felony; and driving on revoked, a class B misdemeanor. She was sentenced to a total of seven years in TDOC on the felony charges, and 11 months 29 days in county jail on the misdemeanor charge, with all sentences to run concurrently and to be reduced to supervised probation after serving 75% of her misdemeanor sentence in county jail. Stone was ordered to pay $150.00 in fines, and was ordered to pay restitution to Michelle Floyd in the amount of $500.00. She will receive credit for time served from 06/08/2020 to 10/15/2020.
Jason Wade Vanderford pled and was found guilty of possession of meth for resale in an amount less than 0.5 grams and tampering with evidence, both class C felonies, and simple possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to a total of nine years in TDOC on the felony charges, with the sentences to run concurrently and to be reduced to supervised probation after serving 365 days. Vanderford was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in county jail on the misdemeanor charge, with that sentence also reduced to supervised probation after serving 75% of the sentence in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 04/19/2020 to 11/09/2020.
Jeremy Seth Brown originally pled and was found guilty of attempted possession of meth for resale in an amount of 0.5 grams or less, a class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. He applied for and was granted an order of judicial diversion, and was placed on supervised probation for a period of six years. He will receive credit for time served from 01/31/2020 to 03/12/2020 and from 06/15/2020 to 07/16/2020.
Jason Dwight Bunch was originally convicted on a charge of aggravated burglary. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 60 days in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 09/16/2020 to 10/15/2020.
Jacob Lynn Peppers was originally convicted on charges of theft and burglary. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 60 days in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 09/14/2020 to 10/15/2020.
