Following are the judgments and probation revocation orders filed by Judge J. Russell Parkes in the Criminal/Circuit Court of Wayne County during the months of March, April, and May of 2020:
Freda Rene Box pled and was found guilty of possession of meth for resale in an amount of 0.5 grams or less, a class C felony. She was sentenced to six years in TDOC, with the sentence reduced to six years supervised probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,000 in fines. Box will receive credit for time served from 01/01/2020 to 01/22/2020.
James Russell Brewer originally pled and was found guilty of theft of $2,500 or more but less than $10,000, a class D felony. He applied for and was granted an order of judicial diversion, and was placed on supervised probation for a period of two years. He was ordered to pay restitution to Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company in the amount of $2,968.35 by June 15, 2020.
John Wilburn Castleman, Jr. pled and was found guilty of attempted forgery less than $1,000 and tampering with government records, both class A misdemeanors. He was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in county jail on each charge, with both sentences reduced to supervised probation and to run consecutively.
Cody Cogdill pled and was found guilty of theft of property $10,000-$60,000, a class C felony, and burglary other than a habitation, a class D felony. He was sentenced to four years in TDOC on each charge, with both sentences reduced to supervised probation and to run concurrently. Cogdill was ordered to have no contact with Steven Marlowe and his property. He will receive credit for time served from 06/28/2019 to 07/02/2019 and from 01/02/2020 to 01/13/2020.
Michael Anthony Craig pled and was found guilty on two counts of aggravated assault, a class C felony. He was sentenced to six years in TDOC on each count, with the sentences reduced to supervised probation and to run concurrently. Craig was ordered to have no contact with Robert Gayland Staggs or his property, or with Bobby Romine Staggs or his property. He will receive credit for time served from 03/25/2019 to 03/26/2019 and from 10/09/2019 to 05/14/2020.
Eric C. Daniel pled and was found guilty of possession of meth 0.5 grams or less for resale in a drug-free zone, a class B felony. He was sentenced to eight years in TDOC, and was ordered to pay $2,000 in fines. He will receive credit for time served from 02/21/2019 to 11/14/2019.
Tommy Dixon pled and was found guilty on two counts of domestic assault, a class A misdemeanor; one count each of theft of $1,000 or less, violation of a conditional bond, and evading arrest, also class A misdemeanors; driving on revoked, a class B misdemeanor; and theft of $2,500 or more, a class D felony. He was sentenced to a total package of four years in TDOC with the sentence suspended to supervised probation after serving nine months. He was further ordered to have no contact with Amy Gatlin or Dana Pusser, and ordered to pay restitution to Dana Pusser in the amount of $60. Dixon was also ordered to pay $25 in fines and to pay all court costs. He will receive credit for time served from 06/01/2019 to 06/02/2019, from 07/20/2019 to 07/21/2019, and from 08/20/2019 to 03/09/2020.
Chad Gaston pled and was found guilty of sale of meth in an amount less than 0.5 grams, a class C felony; reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and vandalism over $1,000, both class E felonies; and domestic assault, violation of an order of protection, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simple possession/casual exchange, all class A misdemeanors. He was sentenced to three years in TDOC on the methamphetamine charge; one year in TDOC on each of the class E felony charges, with those sentences reduced to supervised probation; and 11 months 29 days in county jail on each of the misdemeanor charges, with those sentences reduced to supervised probation as well. Gaston was also ordered to pay $900 in fines. He will receive credit for time served from 08/26/2019 to 08/27/2019 and from 12/30/2019 to 03/09/2020.
William K. Gower pled and was found guilty of sale of meth in an amount less than 0.5 grams, a class C felony. He was sentenced to six years in TDOC, and received a full revocation of probation on a prior charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Gower will receive credit for time served from 10/02/2019 to 12/31/2019, from 01/10/2020 to 01/11/2020, and from 01/20/2020 to 04/16/2020.
Timothy Lee Griggs pled and was found guilty of aggravated assault, a class C felony. He was sentenced to three years in TDOC, with the sentence reduced to three years supervised probation. Griggs was ordered to have no contact with Amber Thompson or her residence. He will receive credit for time served from 11/29/2019 to 05/14/2020.
Raymond Charles Inman pled and was found guilty on two counts of sale of meth in an amount of 0.5 grams or more, and one count each of sale of meth in an amount of 0.5 grams or less within a drug-free zone, possession of meth for resale in an amount of 0.5 grams or more, and conspiracy to sell meth in an amount of 0.5 grams or more, all class B felonies; two counts of reckless endangerment, a class E felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to a total package of 20 years in TDOC, with ten years served at 100% and ten years supervised probation. Inman was also ordered to pay $10,550.00 in fines.
Walter E. Kendrick pled and was found guilty of second degree murder, a class A felony. He was sentenced to 15 years in TDOC, to run concurrently with his current TDOC sentence.
Nicky Lee Langford pled and was found guilty of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, a class E felony. He was sentenced to two years in TDOC, which was reduced to two years supervised probation.
Jammie Lynn McFall pled and was found guilty of burglary other than a habitation, a class D felony. He was sentenced to two years in TDOC, and was ordered to pay restitution to Glenda and William Robbins in the amount of $4,684.00. McFall will receive credit for time served from 10/30/2017 to 11/30/2017, from 09/27/2018 to 11/07/2018, from 03/21/2018 to 04/23/2018, and from 09/19/2019 to 02/05/2020.
Billy Earl McIllwain, Jr. pled and was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, a class C felony. He was sentenced to ten years in TDOC to run concurrently with his current TDOC sentence.
Jonathan Arlin Pulley pled and was found guilty on two counts of violation of community supervision for life, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in county jail on each charge, with the sentences reduced to supervised probation and to run concurrently. Pulley received a partial revocation of probation on a prior charge of violation of community supervision for life, with probation to be reinstated on that charge after serving nine months in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 05/23/2019 to 09/06/2019, from 12/14/2019 to 01/16/2020, and from 02/22/2020 to 03/10/2020.
Jeffory Lee Runions pled and was found guilty of sale of meth in an amount of 0.5 grams or more, a class B felony, and attempted possession of meth for resale, a class C felony. He was sentenced to nine years in TDOC on the class B felony and six years in TDOC on the class C felony, with the sentences to run concurrently. He will receive credit for time served from 06/11/2019 to 07/05/2019.
Kaitlyn M. Samples pled and was found guilty of simple possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. She was sentenced to 11 months 29 days in county jail, which was reduced to 11 months 29 days supervised probation. Samples was ordered to pay $250 in fines.
Sandra Jean Satterfield pled and was found guilty of conspiracy to sell meth in an amount of 26 grams or more, a class B felony. She was sentenced to 12 years in TDOC, which was reduced to 12 years supervised probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,000.00 in fines. Satterfield agreed to testify against her co-defendants truthfully, fully, and accurately.
Marilyn F. Skaggs pled and was found guilty of conspiracy to sell meth in an amount of 26 grams or more, a class B felony. She was sentenced to ten years in TDOC, which was reduced to ten years supervised probation. She was also ordered to pay $2,000.00 in fines.
Laranda Joy Strickland originally pled and was found guilty of financial exploitation of elderly or vulnerable, a class C felony. She applied for and was granted an order of judicial diversion, and was placed on supervised probation for a period of three years. She was ordered to pay restitution to Patricia Carol Victory in the amount of $13,218.37.
Kimberly Starlene Adams was originally convicted on a charge of facilitation of the sale of schedule IV. She received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving five months in county jail. Her probation will be extended for an additional year after serving five months. She will receive credit for time served from 05/06/20 to 05/14/20.
Dustin Lynn Bunch was originally convicted on a charge of tampering with evidence. He received a full revocation of probation, and was ordered to serve the remainder of the original sentence. He will receive credit for time served from 02/28/2014 to 03/05/2014, from 05/01/2014 to 05/29/2014, from 10/04/2014 to 02/17/2015, from 12/01/2016 to 01/27/2017, and from 08/05/2018 to 10/01/2018.
Orin Daniel was originally convicted on charges of aggravated burglary, burglary, theft, and two counts of DUI. He received a full revocation of probation on some of the charges, with probation to be reinstated on the other charges after serving the remainder of the original sentence. He will receive credit for multiple jail times served.
Mark Steven Gist was originally convicted on charges of theft of $1,000 or less, sale of meth in an amount of 0.5 grams or more, and habitual motor vehicle offender. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving one year in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 01/24/2020 to 03/10/2020.
Brandon David Hand was originally convicted on a charge of theft over $10,000. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 120 days in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 03/02/2020 to 03/09/2020.
Alicia Gail Horton was originally convicted on a charge of simple possession. She received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 60 days in county jail. Her probation will be extended 11 months and 29 days after serving 60 days. She will receive credit for time served from 01/24/2020 to 03/09/2020.
Curtis Kiddy was originally convicted on charges of especially aggravated stalking and violation of the sex offender registry. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 120 days in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 01/03/2020 to 03/10/2020.
Jessica M. Matthews was originally convicted of filing a false report. She received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 40 days in county jail. She will receive credit for time served from 03/08/2020 to 03/10/2020.
Benjamin McCabe was originally convicted on a charge of evading arrest. He received a full revocation of probation, and was ordered to serve his original sentence of two years. He will receive credit for time served from 10/20/2018 to 10/21/2018, from 02/23/2019 to 05/23/2019, and from 02/12/2020 to 03/10/2020.
James Ricky McCurry was originally convicted on a charge of vandalism over $1,000 and two counts of aggravated assault. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 150 days in county jail. Judge Parkes ordered that McCurry can go to rehab if arrangements are made, and will get credit toward his sentence if he completes the rehab program. McCurry will receive credit for time served from 04/29/2020 to 05/14/2020.
Lee Brice McCurry was originally convicted on charges of possession of over 0.5 grams of meth for resale and possession of a firearm during a felony. He received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 120 days in county jail. He will receive credit for time served from 03/08/2020 to 04/16/2020.
Stephen Novatne was originally convicted on a charge of introduction of contraband into a penal facility. He received a full revocation of probation, and was ordered to serve the remainder of his original sentence. He will receive credit for time served from 08/06/2018 to 08/30/2018.
Shonda Renee Pigg was originally convicted on a charge of evading arrest. She received a partial revocation of probation, with probation to be reinstated after serving 60 days in county jail. She will receive credit for time served from 04/28/2020 to 05/14/2020.
Steven Jacob Skeeters was originally convicted on charges of escape, vandalism, and burglary. He received a full revocation of probation, and was ordered to serve the remainder of his original sentence. He will receive credit for time served from 05/24/2017 to 09/07/2017, from 10/07/2017 to 02/19/2018, and from 02/26/2020 to 03/09/2020.
