Jessie Rachel Skelton, was born August 14, 1939 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Eula Mae Rose Reeves. Mrs. Skelton was a retired factory worker with Angelica. She was united in marriage to Howard Skelton on September 17, 1955. Mr. Skelton preceded her in death on June 16, 2016. Mrs. Skelton departed this life on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her residence in Waynesboro at the age of 81 Years, 5 Months, 21 Days.
She is survived by a son, Anthony Howard “Tony” Skelton and wife Chanda; a daughter, Gayla Skelton Andrews, all of Waynesboro, TN; five grandchildren, Haden Skelton, Kayleigh Skelton, Zoie Skelton, Dahkina Creech, Joelton Whitehead and a great-grandchild, Maelee Andrews. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Reeves; three sisters, Jo Bomar, Betty Reeves and Peggy Reeves.
A graveside service was held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Greg Eaton officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Waynesboro assisted the family.
