Jerry Lane Nowlin, age 72, of Reno, Nevada, a native of Collinwood, Tennessee, passed from this life on September 26, 2021. He was the son of Walter Nowlin, Jr. (W.J.) and Lena Stults Nowlin who preceded him in death. Grandparents who preceded him in death were Walter Nowlin, Sr., Nancy Parlie Shelton Nowlin, Tipton Commodore Stults and Nora Pearl Parrish Stults.
He is survived by children John Walter Nowlin (Sara) of Arkansas, Ginger Ann Straughn Holton (Kyle) of Alabama, Jared Thomas Straughn and Gena Louise Straughn Schmahl (Mark) of Tennessee and ten grandchildren.
Jerry is also survived by a brother, Allen Stephen Nowlin (Linda) of Opelika, Alabama and two sisters, Stella Louise Nowlin Matney (Jerry) of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, Judy Kathryn Nowlin Butler (Donnie) of New Johnsonville, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation with family will be held at the Collinwood Shackelford Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday December 11, 2021. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. The family will be having a private burial at McGlamery Cemetery, where he will be buried next to his father and mother.
