Mr. Jason Edwin McClain, age 53, of Waynesboro was born Tuesday October 14, 1969, in Florence Alabama, to the late Hubert and Alice Morris McClain. He was of the Baptist faith, having been baptized at Calvary Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Wayne Halfway House, ending his career as a supervisor. When not working, he loved doing anything outside, especially hunting, fishing, looking for arrowheads, and even catching snakes. If you were fortunate enough to eat his cooking, you know he will be remembered as a wonderful cook. He was a proud member of the ALS Association. Mr. McClain departed this life on Tuesday December 27, 2022, at Waynesboro Nursing and Rehab.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Kelley Shepherd (Justin); brother, Greg McClain (Daniella); three grandchildren, Raylee Yocom, Raegan Shepherd, and Ryann Shepherd; an aunt, Sue Morris; two nieces, Sydni McClain Rich (Gunner), Savannah McClain; and one nephew, Eli McClain all of Waynesboro

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Christine Sizemore and Mary “Nan” Morris.

Keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated with no services scheduled. Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation is honored to serve the McClain Family.
