The 10th Annual Janet J. Smith 5K Memorial Fun Walk, to benefit the Janet J. Smith Foundation, will be held on Saturday, April 2 at the Columbia State Community College Campus in Clifton. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a cookout to follow.

The Fun Walk is held annually in memory of Janet Johnston Smith. Janet was a true fighter, and through her determination and strength she survived eleven years after receiving the diagnosis of cancer. When Janet was first diagnosed, she recognized immediately that life wasn’t going to be a smooth road, and her thoughts focused toward living each day. It seemed that the more difficulties she encountered, the more determined she became to positively touch the lives of others. Her greatest hope was that she had made a difference in the lives of others in her community. Through the Janet J. Smith Foundation, a difference is being made in this community in her name.

For more information on the Fun Walk and registration, call 931-676-3311.
