James Marshell “Sonny” Holt

Mr. James Marshell “Sonny” Holt was born January 6, 1950 in Hohenwald, TN to the union of the late Homer Lee and Anne Lucille Warren Holt. He was united in marriage to Melba Inman on May 29, 1971. He worked for the Chevrolet Dealership in Waynesboro, was an auto-mechanic teacher at Wayne County Vocational School, was a member of the American Legion Post 130 in Waynesboro, was a member of the Wayne County Bible Center, Retired from Lincoln Brass as a machine operator and proudly served his country from April 1969 to February 1975 in the United States Air Force. Mr. Holt departed this life on February 11, 2021 in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 1 Month, 5 Days. He is survived by his wife Melba Inman Holt of Waynesboro, TN; two daughters, Melanie Floyd and husband John of Linden, TN, Jaime Labombard of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Jackie  Holt and wife Cheryl of Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Margie Quillen and husband Leamon of Waynesboro, TN; and four grandchildren, Reagen Floyd, Maggie Labombard, Tayleigh Labombard, Carleigh Labombard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holt was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin “Buddy” Holt; a sister, Margaret Kilburn; and a granddaughter, Tayler Grace Floyd. Services were held on Sunday February 14, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Waynesboro with Casey Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens at Waynesboro with full Military Honors. Shackelford Funeral Directors Assisting the Family.
