James E. Staggs was born in Collinwood, Tennessee, on November 13, 1945, the son of the late Lester and Georgia Kephart Staggs. On August 15, 1980, he was united in marriage to Janet Daniel Staggs.
James honorably served his country in the United States Army. While in active duty, he spent time in Vietnam. He was the owner and operator of Staggs Sawmill. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching western movies, mowing the yard, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball.
James E. Staggs departed this life on February 1, 2023, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 19 days.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Staggs; children, Marcus William Staggs and Adam Daniel Staggs (Candy); brother; Edward Allen Staggs; sister, Margaret Staggs Pigg; grandchildren, Madison Nichole Staggs, Chanston Clay, Destany Clay, and Rhylee Clay; great-grandchild, Solan Blayne Clay.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, James Timothy (Tim) Staggs.
