   Mr. Jack Edgar Smith was born January 19, 1927 in Clifton, Tennessee to the union of the late Alfred “Alf” and Rixie Gordon Smith. He was united in marriage to the former Jackie Lou Conaway on December 17, 1949. Jack worked in construction, was a truck driver, worked at Vulcan Rock and worked at Lewis Products in Hohenwald. In his earlier years, he can be remembered as a farmer and a trader. Jack took great pleasure in serving the people of Wayne County as a commissioner for over 25 years. While holding the office of commissioner, he performed over 200 marriage ceremonies. He was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Revival Center in his early years. He was well known to be a huge supporter of the Republican Party. He was proud to give a monthly donation to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, as Ronald Reagan was his favorite President. Mr. Smith departed this life on February 22, 2021 in Clifton, Tennessee, making his stay in this life some 94 Years, 1 Month and 3 Days.

   He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Jackie Lou Conaway Smith of Clifton, TN; two sons, Carlton Smith and wife Cindy of Clifton, TN, Conley Smith of Hermitage, TN; a daughter, Cheryl McDonald of Clifton, TN; four grandchildren, Natalie McDonald, Patra Lineberry and husband Danny, Carla Smith and fiance’ John, Cannan Smith all of Clifton, TN; seven greatgrandchildren, Kalee Lineberry, Konnor Lineberry, Carter Duggar, Brayken Horner, Haze Horner, Jayce Horner, Carson Lineberry and Skylar Lineberry all of Clifton, TN; a sister, Edith Franks and husband Bill of Manchester, TN; three brothers, Carl Smith of Savannah, TN, Faye Smith of Braidwood, IL, Bill Smith and wife Christy of Clifton, TN. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.

   In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant daughter, and four brothers, Walter Brown Smith, Claude Smith, Glen Smith, Bobby Gene Smith.

   Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday February 24, 2021 from 10:00 AM until service time at 3:00 PM at the Clifton Revival Center.

   Services will be held on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Clifton Revival Center with Michael Mathers and Paul Odle officiating. Burial will follow in the Prater’s Chapel Cemetery at Clifton with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting.
