Iron City Woman Arrested for Meth Following Traffic Stop

Charlotte Kay Hayes, age 58, of Iron City, TN was arrested on Saturday, May 4th on charges of possession of meth with intent, possession of schedule III, and driving on revoked 2nd offense. Deputy Darren Pounders filed a report stating that Hayes was observed not stopping at a stop sign at the intersection of Big Cypress Road and Pumping Station Road and was not wearing a seatbelt. Pounders performed a traffic stop on Hayes and was informed by dispatch that Hayes’ driver’s license was revoked. During the course of the traffic stop, Hayes was allegedly found to be in possession of two bags of methamphetamine with a total combined weight of approximately 4.4 grams, and two pills identified as Buprenorphine Hydrochloride. Hayes was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $82,500.00 bond.
