Hohenwald Man Killed on Motorcycle Struck by Waynesboro Woman

   A Hohenwald man was killed at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, June 20th, when the motorcycle he was operating on Red Hill Center Road near Hohenwald was struck by a vehicle driven by a Waynesboro woman.

   According to the preliminary report filed by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2008 Toyota driven by Amanda Buie, age 45, of Waynesboro, had stopped at the intersection of Ethridge Red Hill Road and Red Hill Center Road. A 2008 Harley Davidson being ridden by Cody Turner, age 28, of Hohenwald, was reportedly southbound on Red Hill Center Road. The THP report stated that when Buie began to proceed through the intersection, she struck Turner’s motorcycle in his lane. Turner and his motorcycle were reportedly pinned under a guardrail, and Turner later died from his injuries.

   Buie and her passenger, Carolyn Mathis, age 67, also of Waynesboro, were both uninjured according to the report.

   No citations were issued or criminal charges filed at the time of the report.
