Governor Bill Lee visited Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company on Tuesday, November 5th to present a check from the State of Tennessee to the Jobs for Tennessee Graduates (JTG) program. JTG is a non-profit organization which guides at-risk students toward high school graduation and college or career opportunities.

The Wayne County Technology Center participates in the JTG program, under the guidance of program director Gregg Lee. Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company is a corporate sponsor of the local program at the Technology Center. An amendment proposed by Governor Lee to the state budget was passed this year which appropriates $750,000 to the various JTG programs across the state.

After the check presentation to the Jobs for Tennessee Graduates, Governor Lee toured the new hardwood flooring manufacturing facility at Hassell and Hughes.
