Florence Woman Arrested After Admitting to Drug Use in Children’s Presence

   Kendra Sheianna Givens, age 25, of Florence, Alabama, was arrested on Tuesday, January 12th on charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of child abuse/neglect/or endangerment. The report filed by Lt. Jeremy Staggs of the Waynesboro Police Department stated that he responded to a call of possible child abuse at a Waynesboro residence and obtained written consent to search the residence from the legal renter. While searching a diaper bag located inside the residence, Lt. Staggs allegedly discovered a glass pipe containing residue, and also located another glass pipe containing meth residue inside a kitchen cabinet. Givens, an occupant of the residence, allegedly admitted to smoking methamphetamine inside the residence while taking care of two minor children. Givens was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $52,500.00 bond.
