Everyone is invited to come enjoy the beautiful Festival of Trees display at the Wayne County Courthouse! The festive Christmas trees adorn all three floors of the courthouse with their colorful and creative decorations. Trees have been popping up in the courthouse all week – the beautiful lights and themed decorations transforming the building into a Christmas wonderland.

The lovely Christmas trees are decorated by local churches, businesses, and civic organizations. The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will be judging for the “Best Decorated Tree” on Wednesday, December 8th. The trees will be on display Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. until Friday, December 31st.

The Ladies in Pink Society (L.I.P.S.) decorated a tree for the festival, and it is one of the most eye-catching trees in the courthouse. A full white tree adorned with pink ribbons, ornaments, and bows, the tree serves as the perfect representation of their work as a Breast Cancer Awareness Support Group. The Ladies reach out to Wayne Countians undergoing treatment for all types of cancers.

The Butterfly Foundation tree is beautifully decorated with a variety of sparkly butterfly ornaments. The Butterfly Foundation was founded after Ryleigh Stegall lost her battle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2007 and was named for her love of butterflies. The organization provides support to families with children facing life-threatening illnesses and holds an annual walk with local school students in memory of Ryleigh and to help raise funds for the foundation.

The Bank of Waynesboro officially merged with Capstar Bank and changed their name in 2020. Many of the same friendly faces we have always known at the Wayne County Capstar locations still greet us when we are there to take care of business, and those same bank employees decorated the fabulous tree pictured below.

Wayne County Bank was established in 1914. Headquartered in Waynesboro, they are the 63rd largest bank in the state of Tennessee, and the 2,143rd largest bank in the nation. Although they are a large bank, the Wayne County Bank staff is made up of mostly local and all friendly yet professional faces. WCB employees set up and decorated the gorgeous tree pictured below.
