Employee Working at Wayne County Jail Arrested on Drug Charges

   Wayne County Sheriff Shane Fisher issued a press release on Friday, April 24th, 2020, regarding the arrest of an employee working inside the Wayne County Jail. Sheriff Fisher made the following statement:

   “After receiving information that an employee working inside the Wayne County Jail was bringing contraband inside the jail and delivering to inmates, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation which revealed Teresa Lyn Brown, age 50, of Savannah, Tennessee, was responsible for bringing in a Schedule 5 controlled substance. Brown was employed by Summit Food Preparations, who is under contract with the Wayne County Jail to provide meals for inmates. Brown has been charged with Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility and Simple Possession/Casual Exchange of Schedule 5 Controlled Substance. Brown is being held on $12,500 bond pending appearance in Wayne County General Sessions Court. Brown has been terminated by Summit Food Prep since her arrest.”
