Mr. Elvin Cecil Martin was born February 25, 1936 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of the late Claude J. and Annie Lee Milan Martin. He was united in marriage to Norma J. Warren on July 19, 1958. Mr. Martin was a retired maintenance supervisor with Genesco and served his county in the United States Army. He departed this life on Monday November 16, 2020 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 8 Months, 22 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Norma J. Warren Martin of Waynesboro, TN; son, Tracy Martin and wife Cindy of Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Dana Lawrence and husband Keith of South Foulton, TN; six grandchildren, Chelsie Chumney and husband Jay, Shelby Campbell and husband Sonny, Mallory Martin, Joel Martin, Anna Kate Lawrence, Connor Lawrence; four great-grandchildren, Amelia Campbell, Savannah Campbell, Joanna Chumney, Janie Chumney; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Martin of Corinth, MS, Ludine Martin of Waynesboro, TN, Juanita Warren of Virginia Beach, VA; several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by brother, Franklin Martin, sister, Christine Crews.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020, 1:00 pm, at Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 19, from 12:00 noon until service time at Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting.
