Elizabeth Faye Balentine was born June 11, 1951 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Fred and Minnie C. Brown. She was united in marriage to Donald Edward Balentine on June 20, 1969 and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2015. Faye spent many years working at Murray Ohio, Inc., and several more at Chad’s Family Restaurant, happily serving her community. She was a member of the Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church. Faye departed this life on January 22, 2023 in Collinwood, TN at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 11 days.
She is survived by a son, Chad Edward Balentine and wife Christine of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Jessica Danielle Balentine Smith and husband Dustin of Collinwood, TN; brothers, James Glenn Brown of Collinwood, TN, Dannie Earl Brown of Cypress Inn, TN, and Freddie Roger Brown of Shelbyville, TN; and grandchildren, Stormi Steelman, Maddox Balentine, Colton Balentine, and Garrison Smith.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Balentine was preceded in death by a brother, William Edward Brown.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN, with Camryn Eaton, Greg Eaton, and Stephen Stults officiating. Burial followed in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Cypress Inn, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
