Edward Doyle Horton, Collinwood, TN, was born November 6, 1941 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late John Elmer and Josie Evelyn Reaves Horton. He married the former Brenda Butler on January 16, 1965 and she preceded him in death on July 25, 2016. Mr. Horton was an electrician, homebuilder, truck driver, school bus driver and appliance repairman and departed this life on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 6 Months, 8 Days.
He is survived by son, Robert Shannon Horton, wife, Hollie of Iron City, TN; daughter, Jacqueline Rae Horton Hicks of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Hicks, wife, Valerie, Raven and Katie Hicks and Reese Horton; brothers, Johnny and Kenneth Horton both of Collinwood, TN and G.W. Horton, wife, Wanda of Savannah, TN; sisters, Sue Cypert, husband, Roy of Elkhart, IN, Judy Thompson, husband, Dennis of Collinwood, TN, Barbara White, husband, Randall of Anderson, AL, Teresa Bramlett of Jackson, TN and Janice Hunt, husband, Jeff of Waynesboro, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Cromwell Crossroads Church, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton and Earl Rich officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Jacob Hicks, Brent Horton, Adam Horton, Wesley Butler, Brad Copeland and Dewayne Cypert. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 11 am to service time at the church.
