Out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the beloved elderly population in Wayne County, the Waynesboro Health & Rehab and Boyd Cottages Assisted Living facilities both made the decision last week to restrict visitors in an attempt to protect the residents from the coronavirus/COVID-19. The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has asked for donations of items to help the residents of both facilities stay healthy, as well as things to help keep them entertained during this trying time.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Christine Chapman said that anyone who has items to donate to either Boyd Cottages or Waynesboro Health & Rehab may call the Chamber office at 931-722-3575, and they will be glad to work out a pickup and delivery schedule.

   The items requested include:

BOYD COTTAGES – Kleenex, adult Pull-Ups (Large and Extra Large), antibacterial pump soap, hand sanitizer, peppermints (soft or hard), chewing gum, Fiddle Faddle, Lysol or Clorox wipes or spray, paper towels, crossword puzzles, books, uplifting cards.

WAYNESBORO HEALTH & REHAB – Kleenex, paper towels, hand sanitizer, Lysol or Clorox wipes or spray, paper towels, crossword puzzles, books, uplifting cards, coloring books & pencils or crayons, gloves, face masks.
