Donald “Donny” Glen Ray was born June 27, 1951, the son of the late Vogel G. and Willie Gordon Ray. Donny honorably served his country in the United States National Guard and was a co-owner of Ray’s Service Station. Donny departed this life on Monday, April 3, 2023 in Columbia, TN at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 7 days.
He is survived by daughter, April Templeton, of Clifton, TN; son, Jeffery Ray and wife Elsie of Clifton, TN; sister, Reba Skelton and husband Roy of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Heather Crowe, Ashley Ray, Austen Ray, Macey Warren, Christopher Burney, Hannah Ray, and Dylan Sherrill; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Sandra, Raylyn, Braxton, Braylee, Lucas.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ray was preceded in death by brother, Billy Ray.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Tracy Love officiating. Burial followed at Prater’s Chapel in Clifton, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisted the family.
Pallbearers were Michael Ray, David Ray, Dylan Sherrill, Jeffery Ray, Aaron Ray, Austen Ray, and Sammy Ray.
Honorary pallbearers were Lucas Crowe and Braxton Kilgore.
