The members of the Waynesboro Rotary Club recently enjoyed a visit from Rotary District Governor Michael Babb, M.D. District Governor Babb has been a member of Rotary since 1985 and has served his community in many capacities in his 36-year Rotary Career. District Governor Babb is a Medical Doctor and is currently practicing as a Hospitalist at Williamson Medical Center, Southern Hills Medical Center, and Hendersonville Medical Center.

District Governor Babb was welcomed to the club by Waynesboro Rotary President Brandy Stults.  He spoke to the Waynesboro members and guests about how the good deeds that we do, no matter how small, go forward as ripples flowing from your actions.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of over 1.4 million neighbors, friends, and problem solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change in their communities, across the globe and in their own lives. District Governor Babb congratulated the Waynesboro club for over 55 years of service in Wayne County and encouraged the members to reach out to others in order to continue to be “People of Action.”

Waynesboro Rotary is the sponsor of the Annual Christmas Parade, the annual Harvest Festival, contributor to many of the local not for profit organizations in our area, a sponsor of the Rotary 4-Way speech contest, and a sponsor of the WCHS Interact Club. Waynesboro Rotary awards two scholarships annually to a graduating senior each year at Wayne County High School, and sends one or more sophomore or junior students to a one-week leadership training course called RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Acadamy) at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville each summer.

Anyone interested in becoming a part of this growing and dynamic organization may contact any local Rotarian for information on how to join.
