Dena Ruth “Patti” Major

    Ms. Dena Ruth “Patti” Major was born January 5, 1952 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jimmy Dennis and Ailene Pulley Dennis Clayton. Ms. Major worked for Lincoln Brass, Murray Ohio, and Waynesboro Health and Rehab. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Ms. Major departed this life on March 23, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 68 Years, 2 Months, 18 Days.

    She is survived by her companion David Hensley of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Danny Clayton and wife Wanda of Waynesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Deja Dixon and Dylan Dixon, both of Waynesboro, TN. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: David Brewer of Murfreesboro, TN; Leah Nelson and husband Chris of Waynesboro, TN; Tyler Stricklin of Waynesboro, TN; and two great-nephews, Sam Brewer of Murfreesboro, TN and Lawsen Nelson of Waynesboro, TN.

   In addition to her parents, Ms. Major was preceded in death by her daughter, Gwenna Dixon; a sister, Elizabeth “Cookie” Gray; and a great-nephew, Liam Nelson.

   Ms. Major’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later time.

   Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisted the family.
