Memphis Woman Arrested for Facilitating Juvenile’s Escape

   Demetria Brianna Bateman, age 26, of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested on Saturday, October 19th on a charge of permitting or facilitating escape. The arrest report filed by Officer Austin Lanier of the Waynesboro Police Department states that on October 19th at approximately 9 p.m., Bateman intentionally permitted and facilitated the escape of a juvenile in custody at Hollis Academy in Waynesboro. Bateman allegedly picked up the juvenile after his escape from Hollis Academy, and was followed by the Hollis Academy security team until she was stopped by Hardin County deputies. Bateman was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $10,000.00 bond. The juvenile was also placed into custody and transported back to Hollis Academy.
