   Dana Cole Pope, 58, of Waynesboro passed away Friday, February 17th at her home following a lengthy illness.

   A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Andrew Cole, Sr. and Martha Nell                     Cole. She was a 1983 graduate of Wayne County High School. That same year, she married James Anthony (Tony) Pope and the couple resided in Waynesboro where they raised three children.

   She attended TCAT tech center where she earned her LPN degree. At the time of her death, she was employed by Buffalo River Services as an LPN in the area of residential care.

   She is survived by a daughter, Cassi Willoughby (Kyle), of Murfreesboro; two sons, Eric Pope (Alora), Waynesboro; and, Stephen Pope, Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Ally, Carter, and Bennett Willoughby, all of Murfreesboro, and Atlas Pope, of Waynesboro; one brother, Dan Cole of Waynesboro; and two sisters, Madora Bevis and Paige Cole of Waynesboro; one nephew, Drew Bevis and two nieces, Martha Kristin Woodside and Caitlyn Floyd, all of Waynesboro; one aunt, Billie Jean Hollis of Waynesboro; and one first cousin, Leigh Alice Moyer, of Waynesboro.

   Visitation was held for Dana on Sunday, February 19th at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel from 12-2pm. A celebration of life followed with Cary Crews officiating.

   In life, Dana was a passionate supporter of Wayne County Helping Hands and Country Road Animal Rescue. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to either of these organizations.
