Beginning this week, the Wayne County Health Department will no longer offer COVID-19 drive-through testing on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. A self-testing alternative will be provided.

In order to use the Everlywell COVID-19 Home Collection (self-testing) Kit, you must:

•Be at least 18 years old

•Have a smart phone to register yourself

•Watch an instructional video at https://vimeo.com/399342549

•Have a valid email address

The self-test process will take at least 15 minutes. Please bring a pen to complete the form. The entire test, including the nasal swab, will be done in your car at the Health Department. You will leave your test at the Health Department to be shipped. Everlywell will email you when your sample arrives at the lab, and then again with your results.

The self-tests are not approved for use in children under age 18. Children and adults unable to register online can still receive the standard nasal swab COVID-19 tests on Tuesdays and Thursdays. COVID-19 drive-thru testing at the Wayne County Health Department will still be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Test results may be available within 72 hours of arrival at the lab, depending on the volume of tests the testing lab receives. Health Department staff will be available to answer questions, but will not have access to your test results.

All testing remains at no charge. You may contact the Health Department at (931) 722-3292 to see if you are eligible for this alternative form of testing.

Please note that all county health departments will be closed the following holidays:

•Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

•New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day
