Collinwood Women Arrested on Drug Charges

   Stephanie Dawn Pruett, age 38, of Cherokee, AL, and Brittany Nicole Balentine, age 25, of Collinwood, were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday, August 11th. Officer Shannon Adams of the Collinwood Police Department filed a report stating that he observed a vehicle being driven by Pruett that had a swapped tag. After the vehicle was pulled over, a physical inventory of the vehicle was performed which allegedly revealed 8.56 grams of methamphetamine, one-half of a Suboxone strip, and drug paraphernalia including needles, scales, and plastic bags. Pruett, the driver, was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, simple possession of schedule III Suboxone, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $82,500.00 bond. Balentine, the passenger, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, simple possession of schedule III Suboxone, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $80,000.00 bond.
